Producer Information

In the small community of Island Grove, over 30 types of blueberries grow, at least two semi trucks of honey bees pollinate and over 200,000 bottles of wine are bottled per year. Sarah Aschliman, 38, started the winery division of Island Grove Ag Products with her family eight years ago. She also does all of the products’ branding. The family has been growing blueberries for over 30 years at Island Grove, right between Citra and Lochloosa. The 700-acre property straddles three counties: Alachua, Putnam and Marion. “We are a really good specimen of an organic farm,” said Aschliman, the winery’s general manager. “We get people from all over the world to come out to see it, including researchers, educators and farm bureau groups.”
